Who can reach the age of 100

According to the research, carried out by the scientists at Boston University, Massachusetts, not only healthy people, but also those suffering from various chronic diseases, including diabetes and other serious diseases, are able to live till the second hundred of years. In the course of the research, 500 women and 200 men, who had reached the age of one hundred years, were interviewed. According to the conclusions made, around two thirds of respondents did not have severe diseases, while a third of them had a "complete set" of diseases as early as 85 years of age. Those people suffered from hypertension, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. However, in spite of many diseases, they live almost the same life as those who are much healthier.
Other studies have shown that the one who has got at least one bad habit (eg, smoking, drinking alcohol, having problems with excess weight, etc.), shortens his/her life by about 10 years and is much less likely to live to be ninety years old.
