Involving young people in civic activity with the aim of preserving their health and developing life skills in 3 pilot regions of Russia

Problem: Young people do not often think that they may have any health problem. Mental illnesses, drug and alcohol addiction, epidemics of infectious diseases – this is an incomplete list of problems that today are increasingly facing the younger generation. Obtaining accessible and reliable information and skills of "safer behavior" is necessary to preserve the most important thing - the health of the younger generation.

Purpose and objectives: The purpose of the project is to involve young people aged 13 to 18 in civic activity to preserve their health and develop their life skills through participation in projects developed by members of youth organizations in three selected Russian regions.

Students of an Altai university declared war on the stores located near the university

The initiative group of students signed a resolution which included a paragraph recommending the Council of Rectors to apply to the Altai Krai Administration and Legislative Assembly for local banning of alcoholic beverages sale near educational institutions. The students asked to move the stores for at least 500 meters from the temples of science.

Yekaterina Klimovich, co-author of the resolution:
“Our university and the campus is surrounded by the shops selling alcohol - a total of five. Meanwhile, everyone knows that the so-called "pan" is a favorite place of all Barnaul students, but in recent years it has become an open-air cafe. There is a law, which prohibits selling alcohol near schools, but in practice, it is not observed. By our resolution, we want to attract the attention of the authorities to this problem.”
